Record Discord audio separately from your game.
A voice-chat moment is worth saving. Your game, browser and other apps may all be playing sound, but you want just the conversation.
Select Discord and record its audio to MP3 or WAV. In selected-app mode, game sound and other apps stay out unless you also select them. Your own microphone is optional and stays off until you enable it.
How to record Discord audio on Windows.
- Open Discord and play some call audio. Ask the participants for the permission required to record.
- Select Discord in the recorder. Check its live meter. The Other app picker lets you select an app before it starts making sound.
- Turn on My microphone if you want your voice. Use headphones so your microphone does not pick up your speakers.
- Choose your output layout. Save separate app and microphone files, a mixed file, or both.
- Run a test take, then press Record. Stop with the button or Ctrl+Alt+S.
No virtual audio cable or changes to Windows audio routing are needed. You can keep listening to your game and call as usual.
A game audio recorder with separate voice chat.
Want both the game and Discord? Ctrl+click to select both. Choose separate files to keep game sound and voice chat on different tracks. The files from the same recording align sample for sample in an external editor.
If you want one ready-to-listen file, choose the mixed output. You can also save separate and mixed files at the same time. Add your microphone and set its own volume in the mix.
Record the sound, not the screen.
This app captures audio only. It does not record game video or your screen. You can use the saved audio in an external editing workflow.
Keep the moment after it happens.
Enable Pre-record before you start playing. Choose 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes or 3 minutes. The selected apps’ recent audio stays in memory while the recorder runs.
When something is worth keeping, press Ctrl + Alt + M. The buffer plus the next 3 seconds is saved as a clip. Pre-record must already be enabled and cannot recover audio from earlier.
Shortcuts that work while you play.
Ctrl+Alt+R starts recording, then pauses or resumes it. Ctrl+Alt+S stops. Ctrl+Alt+M saves a Pre-record clip. Change any of these combinations in Settings if they overlap with your game controls.
Closing the recorder window keeps it in the notification area, with recording and Pre-record still running. Exit from the tray menu when you want to stop the app completely.
