Calls. Interviews. Your own voice.

Keep the call.
Leave other apps out.

Record meeting audio from Zoom or another call app on Windows. Save the conversation, add your microphone and keep both sides on separate tracks.

Record meeting audio without the rest of your desktop.

You are in a Zoom call. Music is playing in another app, notifications are enabled, and you need a recording of the conversation.

Choose the call app instead of recording the whole system. Per-App Audio Recorder saves that application’s audio to MP3 or WAV. Other apps and Windows notifications stay out in selected-app mode.

Get permission before recording.

Record only what you have the right to record and get the consent required where you are. Check workplace and meeting rules before recording other people.

How to record a Zoom call on Windows.

  1. Get any required recording consent. Let the participants know when recording is appropriate.
  2. Select the call application in the recorder. Check the live meter or use the Other app picker to choose it before audio starts.
  3. Enable My microphone to include your side. Audio from the call app alone may not contain your own voice.
  4. Choose separate files, a mixed file, or both. Separate files give you more control in an external editor.
  5. Make a 5-second test take. Confirm that the remote audio and your microphone are present as expected.
  6. Press Record and save the conversation. Pause and resume by button or shortcut as needed.

If the call is in a browser, select that browser instead. Every tab and window of the selected browser is included, so mute or pause unrelated tabs.

Your voice and your guest, on separate tracks.

Enable My microphone to save your voice to its own file. When you create a mixed file, your microphone is also included in that mix. Separate app and microphone volume sliders let you adjust the balance.

Files from the same recording are aligned sample for sample, so you can place them on parallel tracks in an external editor. Wear headphones to avoid capturing your speakers through an open microphone.

Useful details for longer conversations.

Keep the default silence setting if the recording needs to match the original timeline. Quiet stretches stay in the file. If you choose to skip silence, the recording becomes shorter and no longer matches clock time.

If Windows interrupts capture, the recorder reconnects and fills the gap with silence to preserve timing. Capture gaps are reported in History, with an event journal when there were problems.

After a crash or power loss, the next launch offers to restore unfinished recordings. Usually only the last few seconds are missing. Test your audio source before an important session.

Catch the start of an answer with Pre-record.

Switch on Pre-record before the call. Recent audio from the selected apps stays in memory. When you decide to record, the file begins with the buffered stretch.

It cannot recover audio from before buffering was enabled. The recorder also does not provide meeting video, transcripts, noise removal or editing. It gives you local audio files for your own workflow.

Your apps. Your audio. Your files.

Try every feature for 7 days. Then buy once, keep recording.
